- TLD noobs - The Dot Thickens, Ep. 05: Replacement Period vs String Confirmation Day. 8–21 Oct: applicants can permanently switch to their pre-selected replacement. The catch? It can't match another’s primary or replacement string. 17 Nov: ICANN publishes the confirmed strings & updated contention sets. An eligible replacement can still face contention later if strings are found confusingly similar. Hope that saves you a few tabs.0271K
- LFGRT @cultra: This is one of my favorite stories in domain investing. I always called Yoni one of the smartest people I've met. He was one of the people who guided me when I leaned in heavily into numeric dot coms. Yoni has always inspired me, and given me something to aspire toLFG @lfgLFG is the biggest swing @yonibelousov has taken, but far from the first. His story begins with earning $50 a month online at 15 & runs through nearly every era of the domain industry: affiliate marketing, parking, premium portfolios, opening a route into China, acquiring .link through @NovaRegistry & now building LFG ↓010404

- What can .xxx teach us about TLDs? A good TLD can tell you something about what sits behind the click before you ever get there. That relevance matters. It is why grouping TLDs around distinct audiences, industries & use cases makes sense, rather than trying to make every string mean something to everyone. @vaughn_liley w @SynopsisEvents.38161.8K
- The Dot Thickens, Ep. 04. With Reveal Day around the corner, you'll hear “contention set” a lot. One string. Multiple applicants. Hello contention. Reveal Day will show the initial sets for identical strings & variants. Later evaluations, notifications & objections can also place strings judged similar in appearance, sound, or meaning into contention too. Once finalized, eligible Community Applications can pursue Community Priority Evaluation. Any unresolved contention goes to an ICANN auction. Reveal Day tells us where contention begins. Question is, how will it end?0171K
