Mat BalezRT @moneyball: @jack thinks bitcoin payment adoption isn’t where it could or should be. We want your ideas on how Block, Spiral, and you can improve adoption odds within 5 years. We need a shift to change our trajectory. Here’s more on our thinking. Now we want yours.Spiral @spiral_xyz05802

Mat BalezRT @spiral_xyz: Spiral’s @moneyball is speaking today at AGNTCon + MCPcon in San Jose about @goose_oss’s evolution into an open-source agentic SDK. 10:35AM in room 230C01504
i expect to cross paths with @_austin_f a lot.. ..doing product-ey, builder-ey work at the intersection of open money & open intelligenceSpiral @spiral_xyz.@PresidioBitcoin’s resident polymath and compulsive Google Docs comment dropper @_austin_f is helping champion Goose, GDK, and Buzz. With this grant, he’ll onboard bitcoin and FOSS teams, develop a self-paced GDK Builder Course, and add Buzz features like operational agents.118615

Mat BalezRT @PresidioBitcoin: Open Source AI: It's Time to Hit the Gas Last month, we brought the community together at the Open Source AI Summit in San Francisco's Presidio. Here are our top 5 actionable takeaways. 🧵01606
Mat BalezRT @kevinweil: "The invention of the boat reduced the importance of swimming, but enabled the discovery of new lands." Beautiful analogy from @ylecun about the opportunities and changes with AI, in mathematics and in science more broadly.015609
Mat BalezRT @spiral_xyz: New vertical: AI Caramba lets the goose team open up about anything AI. In this first edition, @dosinga explains how goose replaced the agent loop with a state machine that can be turned off anywhere and resumed like nothing happened. Where does it go in between? Hell if we know.02403

“Open tools let us shape our own intelligence and take it in directions a frontier lab might never prioritize”Tyler Golato @GolatoTylerSome personal news: I'm joining @PrimeIntellect as Head of Scientific AI! A billion copies of the same very smart, agreeable mind will not be a scientifically fruitful world. Scientific superintelligence should be weird and definitionally nonconsensus. It should be highly plural, consisting of many minds, human and artificial, that see the world differently and hold each other accountable, with human judgement still playing the central role in setting the trajectory. Science is about asking the right questions and reducing uncertainty. Professionalizing science made discovery a viable career, but it also introduced incentives to work on what is fundable and publishable. Neither is the same thing as being true or impactful (reward hacking exists in the real world too!). We are very good at accumulating incremental knowledge and rather bad at stewarding unorthodox ideas through infancy, even though these are often the ideas that open entirely new fields of inquiry. If we aren't careful, scientific AI could reproduce these same incentives at a much larger scale. If everyone relies on the same few large models, we risk inheriting the same priors and blind spots. Open tools let us shape our own intelligence and take it in directions a frontier lab might never prioritize. This matters for scientific freedom and is central to Prime’s vision. If you are a scientist, staying at the frontier will mean training your own models on your own research and data. I'll work closely with scientific teams across domains to help them build scientific agents by turning their research problems into environments where agents can learn. This means closing the loop from hypothesis to experiment to validated result, with agents learning from each cycle. Teams will be able to own their intelligence, using tools previously available only to frontier labs, and point it at the questions they care about most, especially those that others might not be asking. I've had the good fortune of seeing how science operates across academia, industry, government, startups, and venture. I worked on experimental therapeutics for cancer in academia before moving to the National Institutes of Health to work on DNA damage and repair. I cofounded Molecule, where we funded dozens of research projects to speed the translation of early-stage therapeutics to market, focusing on areas traditionally ignored by pharma. Most recently, I started Triplicate, a small fund backing teams and tools accelerating scientific research. Many of the problems I care about most are increasingly soluble with advances in AI, and I hope to bring what I've learned about the bottlenecks in translating research to radically accelerate science in all fields. I share Alexander Grothendieck's ethos of discovery and believe Prime does too: "Discovery is a child's privilege. I mean the small child, the child who is not afraid to be wrong, to look silly, to not be serious, and to act differently from everyone else." The goal of progress is not more intelligence for its own sake. In my view, it is to better understand reality, and, in doing so, give more people, and more kinds of minds, the chance to flourish. If you have a research problem where today's tools fall short, my DMs are open. If our approach resonates and you want to build this with us, we're hiring!117334

Mat BalezRT @lexeapp: A new kind of Bitcoin payment gateway just dropped. Zaptrain is now live! @getzaptrain: • Helps you accept Lightning payments • Hosts checkout flows and payment links for you • Doesn't have any control of your funds • No KYC or bank details required Repeat: You can now accept Lightning payments while running 0 infrastructure yourself, without giving anyone control over your funds! How does Zaptrain work? Using Lexe's new credential scopes feature, you can now create a revocable credential with receive-only access to your Lexe wallet, and give it to Zaptrain. Zaptrain can create invoices and check on payment status on your behalf - and nothing more. Zaptrain hosts payment links, a checkout flow, a payment tracking web portal, and a REST API for you. Powered by the Lexe SDK and Lexe's self-custodial Bitcoin infrastructure. Video below 👇Zaptrain @getzaptrainZaptrain is live. Branded Lightning invoices for merchants who hold their own keys. Paid from any wallet, settled into your self-custodial @lexeapp wallet in seconds. We hold a receive-only key. Dashboard, API, checkout, MCP. 1% per paid invoice. Link below.0606

Mat BalezRT @spiral_xyz: x402 lets agents pay for API calls using almost every form of digital money under the sun—except for the first digital money. Then @benthecarman got Lightning merged into the spec and now, BLAM, every agent is a bitcoiner.benthecarman @benthecarmanThe spec for lightning in x402 was merged last night!03802
