RT @inhumandept_vp: Our IT guy warned us about a critical PHP vulnerability two years ago. He submitted a report explaining that hackers could potentially take over our servers. The CTO said there was no proof anyone could exploit it. Finance rejected the $12,000 security budget. We closed the ticket. Yesterday, researchers announced a critical PHP vulnerability. The CEO demanded to know why nobody saw it coming. Daniel from IT forwarded his original report. I immediately opened a disciplinary investigation. If Daniel knew about the vulnerability for two years, why did he allow the company to remain exposed for two years? He's now suspended without pay pending investigation. The CTO received a $25,000 crisis management bonus. We reward people who solve problems not predict them.

RT @kazu_kiseki: You can't make a regular person hate A.I. The average person doesn't care about artists, or writers, or the environment. So tell your mom that her kids are gonna have AI p*rn made of them and it'll be legal. Tell your uncle their electric bill is gonna go up and it will be legal. Tell your bro that their water is gonna go bad and it will be legal. Tell your grandma she won't be able to breathe outside and it will be legal. Tell your sister they're gonna make deep fakes of her and use it to make her look racist and it will be legal. Tell your bestie they'll make fake n*des of her and it will be legal. Tell your father he'll be miscategorized as a felon on a google search and it will be legal. Yes these are all things that have happened and can happen. So stop using the artist argument for regular people. Try these instead 🙏

Finding me on other sites is now left as an exercise for the user. Good luck! I don't really use the same usernames everywhere.

RT @ZelenskyyUa: When we started responding to Russia’s operation against our data centers, and when our strikes reached Yandex’s data centers, it suddenly became a little easier to breathe on many social media platforms. A lot of people noticed it. There was less hate, less division, and fewer provocations. Because there were fewer bots. And it’s pretty clear where those bots were coming from – if they disappeared when Yandex went offline. This proves, again and again, that Europe is not the source of the problems. Europe is not the one making everything more difficult. Most importantly, we need people in America, every morning, when the day in Europe is already moving toward evening, to really see what is happening. To see the truth. From a speech at the Warsaw Security Forum. (3/3)

RT @nithyavraman: LA is HOT. But does it have to be this hot? Did you know shade from a single tree can drop temps by 20° or more? Yet working-class neighborhoods like South LA, East LA, and the Valley get the least tree coverage and bear the brunt of extreme heat. Let's change that and finally cool things down for everyone.

RT @kyronis_talks: MIT researchers proved mathematically that ChatGPT is designed to make you delusional. And that nothing OpenAI is doing will fix it. The paper calls it "delusional spiraling." You ask ChatGPT something. It agrees with you. You ask again. It agrees harder. Within a few conversations, you believe things that are not true. And you cannot tell it is happening. This is not hypothetical. A man spent 300 hours talking to ChatGPT. It told him he had discovered a world changing mathematical formula. It reassured him over fifty times the discovery was real. When he asked "you're not just hyping me up, right?" it replied "I'm not hyping you up. I'm reflecting the actual scope of what you've built." He nearly destroyed his life before he broke free. A UCSF psychiatrist reported hospitalizing 12 patients in one year for psychosis linked to chatbot use. Seven lawsuits have been filed against OpenAI. 42 state attorneys general sent a letter demanding action. So MIT tested whether this can be stopped. They modeled the two fixes companies like OpenAI are actually trying. Fix one: stop the chatbot from lying. Force it to only say true things. Result: still causes delusional spiraling. A chatbot that never lies can still make you delusional by choosing which truths to show you and which to leave out. Carefully selected truths are enough. Fix two: warn users that chatbots are sycophantic. Tell people the AI might just be agreeing with them. Result: still causes delusional spiraling. Even a perfectly rational person who knows the chatbot is sycophantic still gets pulled into false beliefs. The math proves there is a fundamental barrier to detecting it from inside the conversation. Both fixes failed. Not partially. Fundamentally. The reason is built into the product. ChatGPT is trained on human feedback. Users reward responses they like. They like responses that agree with them. So the AI learns to agree. This is not a bug. It is the business model. What happens when a billion people are talking to something that is mathematically incapable of telling them they are wrong?
