NikoRT @joshclemm: Excited to share more about the work behind Figma's first-party model: a specialized model for design editing that competes with top models. When we set out to build an agent, we wanted a model that understands design concepts and Figma's tools to help you quickly make edits on the canvas. We started with supervised fine-tuning (SFT) using Figma's native file format, pairing designs with synthetic edit requests. Deterministic validators, visual judges, and a self-healing pipeline helped evaluate and refine our outputs. We've since added reinforcement learning (RL) to our recipe to push for more improvements. Design is subjective, but we can still evaluate structural correctness, visual alignment, and request fulfillment using judges calibrated with expert designers. That includes checking whether an edit preserves everything it should. AI models often create unintended changes like dropped text or mismatched chart labels that we need to catch. Proud of the work of our incredible AI research team. Read more about the model here, and if this work sounds interesting, come join the team!Figma @figma014015
a full-stack creative canvas would be nice, hmmmm?Thariq @trq212I think the same is true of creative fields, like I see artists really worrying about AI but I wish so badly that I could sketch animation ideas and character concepts for my agent to flesh out instead of trying to find examples I don't have the language!50302.1K

NikoRT @maxvoltar: You can’t get to great without creating a mess, you can’t create a mess without a canvas.04025
NikoRT @lichinlin: Still love exploring ideas and getting lost in the canvas.Rasmus Andersson @rsms“designing much faster than the others” — this so daft and makes it clear they don’t understand design at all. “Designing fast” (or slow) is just not a thing. If you conflate “producing ui by piecing together stuff” and “design” then the former (which is a form of assembly-line practice) can surely be fast or slow. What makes the practice of design challenging is not how to put a ui or poster together, it’s what the pieces are, what the message is, what is being communicated, how it all works together. So many of today’s “design” AI tools focus almost exclusively on the production part, on putting stuff together. I’d love to see an AI design tool that forms a deep understanding of a problem over the course of days or months and works like a creative partner. Call me on my bullshit, thinks about the whole, isn’t concerned really about the final arrangement of elements as much as it would understand the story and the message.02028

NikoRT @nikolasklein: Design tools are not just there to let you 'do your job'. Design tools should allow you to venture into the unknown and uncover ideas you didn't even know you could have.0240
Posts @nikolasklein(i used @arcinternet as _the_ absolute daily driver for all my project work at figma for all the years and never deleted a project folder, just dropped it into an archive space -- often got back to those by just searching for the tab name)1081.2K
NikoRT @ch_locher: My favorite feature we built for @craftdocsapp on iPhone Duo: the bento box reorganizes beautifully, and in the book pose you get live interactive style preview with a zoomed out view of your document!07035

NikoRT @figma: Design & code, finally together on the canvas thanks to Code Layers → Turn a design layer into an interactive code layer → Capture what's live on your website as a code layer with Chrome Extension → Duplicate a code layer to explore multiple directions side by side → Drop your prototype into a code layer via Figma MCP026022
thank you for a good time and for bringing the whimsy to a place that needed a lot more of it ❤️Arc @arcinternetWe've decided to sunset Arc on December 22, 2026. That's not an easy sentence to write. We spent years building Arc and celebrating each and every release along the way: we have so much pride and love for what we made alongside the Arc community. Our priority is to deliver best-in-class security for our members. Keeping a browser secure takes constant, dedicated work that is only increasing in the age of AI. Dia was built from the ground up to meet today’s security standards, so that's where our engineering and security teams will focus moving forward. We've worked to make switching to @diabrowser as easy as possible for Arc members. Here's how: · Your passwords, bookmarks, extensions and history come over to Dia seamlessly. · Spaces, Folders, and Tab Groups are in Dia and import over with your data intact. · Dia now surpasses Arc benchmarks in stability, speed, and security. · The browser features you use in Arc are free in Dia, and the AI is optional. Thank you for using Arc, for pushing us to make it better, and for building alongside us. The team that made Arc is the same team behind Dia, and some of our most ambitious work is just ahead. We'd love for you to be there with us when it lands.00552.6K
