RT @pushpendrakum: 🚨 Binance Security Incident: Initial Investigation Update
Binance’s initial investigation suggests that the incident may have originated from a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, allowing an attacker to access a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions.
Key updates:
No evidence of any wallet private key compromise has been found.
The estimated total impact is approximately $6.3 billion.
Around $3 billion worth of assets have already been frozen on-chain with the help of blockchain partners.
Binance will cover all losses using its SAFU fund and corporate funds.
User funds remain safe.
Binance will publish an updated Proof of Reserves after remediation is complete.
Immediate security measures:
Deposits and withdrawals have been temporarily suspended.
Authorization for the affected address has been revoked.
Law enforcement agencies and blockchain intelligence firms have been engaged to trace and recover the funds.
Binance teams are working around the clock to resolve the incident, identify those responsible, and bring the perpetrators to justice.
A detailed technical post-mortem will be published once the investigation is complete and all facts have been verified.
One exchange promotion is currently happening in India without even disclosing that it’s a paid promotion. Yet, when I do something similar, suddenly there are so many questions and accusations.
WazirX is now sponsoring a few creators for a Mumbai trip. Have I ever taunted anyone or questioned them? No.
But some people seem to have made it their daily job to indirectly target me.
I know a few will probably create another controversy around this post. Nothing new. But at least, before pointing fingers at others, take a moment to look at your own actions.
I have seen enough PR activities in this industry to know how things work.
Khud karo raasleela, aur doosron ki taang kheenchne mein poora din laga do.
Sabko sab pata hai. I simply choose not to target anyone because of personal ego or jealousy.
Even when I got nominated for another exchange award, the same drama started again.
Honestly, I don’t understand where all this jealousy and personal targeting comes from.
Focus on your own work. Let others do theirs.
This is a small industry, and I’m not claiming to be 100% perfect. I make mistakes, learn from them, and learn from others too.
But I don’t appreciate people responding or targeting me just because of jealousy or personal grudges.
Let’s keep things professional and focus on our own work.
RT @PushpendraTech: 🚨BREAKING: Binance co-founder Yi He says deposits are functioning normally, while withdrawals are expected to resume within 48 hours following system upgrades.
Crypto exchanges need to rethink their withdrawal security.
A few security measures I believe every centralized exchange should implement to protect user funds:
Withdrawals above $100K: Mandatory manual review by the security team before processing.
Withdrawals above $10K: Introduce a minimum 10-minute security delay before execution.
Limit hot wallet exposure: Keep only the minimum funds required for daily operations in hot wallets. Store the majority in cold wallets.
Mandatory 2FA: Users holding more than $100K should be required to enable multiple security layers, including authenticator-based 2FA.
Withdrawal address whitelist: Require a 24–48-hour cooling period before allowing withdrawals to newly added addresses.
Large withdrawal alerts: Send instant notifications through email, SMS and the mobile app for unusually large withdrawals.
Withdrawal velocity limits: Detect and temporarily block multiple consecutive withdrawals that suddenly deviate from a user’s normal behaviour.
AI-powered anomaly detection: Flag unusual login locations, new devices, suspicious IPs and abnormal withdrawal patterns.
Multi-signature approval: Large hot-wallet transfers should require approval from multiple authorised security personnel.
Emergency withdrawal circuit breaker: Exchanges should have the ability to instantly pause withdrawals if suspicious activity or a potential security breach is detected.
24/7 security monitoring: Real-time monitoring of wallet movements, API activity and internal employee access.
Strict employee access controls: No single employee or compromised laptop should have enough privileges to initiate unauthorised withdrawals.
Regular security audits: Independent penetration testing, infrastructure audits and proof-of-reserves verification.
The fundamental principle:
Even if an attacker compromises one employee account, one device or one security layer, they should NEVER be able to drain an exchange’s wallets.
User funds must come first.
What other security measures would you add? Exchanges should take this seriously.
Moves BTC from exchange to hardware wallet - gets hacked
buys more BTC
stores it on Ledger
gets hacked again
opens Binance account
buys even more BTC
gets hacked AGAIN
😂
The two biggest differences:
❌ FTX was fundamentally insolvent.
✅ Binance founder @cz_binance says user funds are safe and has been actively addressing the incident. $3 billion already frozen.
This is why I believe blockchain transparency is a game changer. 👇
🇮🇳 Recently, customers of India’s PNB reportedly lost ₹35 crore.
• It took around 3 days for an official statement.
• Even now, the full picture of the stolen funds remains unclear.
Now look at the crypto industry:
• A hack happens.
• Within minutes, @cz_binance publicly addresses the situation.
• Binance shares updates on the funds and recovery efforts.
• On-chain data allows anyone to independently track wallet movements.
• Updates keep coming as the investigation progresses.
That’s the power of blockchain.
Transparency isn’t just a promise. Transactions are publicly verifiable.
No waiting for someone to reveal what happened. The data is there for everyone to investigate. 🔍
This is why I love blockchain technology. ❤️
Happy to see the crypto industry coming together and working with authorities to freeze the stolen funds.
When exchanges, stablecoin issuers and law enforcement collaborate, it sends a strong message to hackers.
The industry is stronger when we work together. 🤝🔒

Billions of dollars worth of cryptocurrency have been hacked from the world’s largest exchange, Binance.
I was always against cryptocurrency and never recommend it for investment to clients. In fact, I stopped many who wanted to invest.
Bitcoin is a global money laundering tool and not suitable for investment.
Thanks to FM for keeping high taxes on Bitcoin in India; it saved millions of people.
