RT @mkratsios47: .@NSF is hiring the inaugural Head of its Office of Metascience to apply the scientific method to how we fund, organize, and evaluate research. Continuous improvement will accelerate discovery. If you care about the science of science, apply:

Congratulations @GovSherrillNJ! This initiative is an important first step for NJ toward shared computing for science, following HiPerGator at @UF and the nation-leading @nyempireai initiative championed by @GovKathyHochul in New York.

New York set a bold, ambitious example with a decade-long commitment to the @nyempireai consortium. That long-term vision is how shared computing becomes lasting scientific capacity. Excited to see NJ build on this momentum!

The coalition matters: eight research institutions alongside the NJ Council of County Colleges. That means a chance to connect more scientists and students with the tools, expertise and collaborators to pursue questions they couldn’t tackle alone.

Faster experiments are just the beginning. At @WHOSTP47’s Golden Age summit, Tom shared why he’s excited about computing tools that could help scientists discover things they couldn’t before. That’s what Tom and the team are working to make possible.

Two to three months → two days. Tom describes what @nyempireai made possible for a protein researcher—and why Tom and the team are working toward five centers across the country, with the Southeast consortium taking the next step.

1/2 The Southeast Regional AI Computing Consortium launched at @WHOSTP47’s Golden Age summit as part of its “Regional SI Compute” announcement. An exciting step toward our five-center vision for the nation, building on @nyempireai.

2/2 Meeting the need means schools setting aside sports rivalries and making real commitments: funding, expertise, & sustained use. Together, they can build large computing instruments no campus can build alone—and keep them refreshed for the next scientific questions.

Great instruments need great teams. Tom and the Secunda Innovation Fund are founding partners of @NSF’s X-Labs Consortium, helping independent research teams tackle scientific challenges. Thank you, Director @mkratsios47 and all the teams behind an exciting Golden Age summit.

RT @NSF: Grateful for the founding partners of the NSF X-Labs Consortium! Together, @AsteraInstitute; @ginkgo; Tom Secunda at the @secundafund, @SloanFoundation, and other national philanthropic partners; and @MattCimaglia with @OccamFoundry and the @FLQuantumCenter will help NSF X-Labs launch a new generation of independent research organizations accelerating the pace of scientific discovery.

RT @mkratsios47: Announcing the Most Ambitious Set of Science Initiatives This Century

RT @mkratsios47:

Big scientific questions need powerful tools. We welcome @NSF's $100M State and Regional AI Infrastructure Hubs initiative to expand access to computing for discovery. Our joint statement with @hangaris:

ICYMI: @GovKathyHochul announced Empire AI Beta is fully online, putting powerful AI tools in the hands of New York researchers. Shared computing opens new possibilities in health and advanced manufacturing.

“Our scientists need tools equal to the scale of the questions they are trying to answer.” Tom Secunda on Empire AI, New York’s scientific ambition, and the discoveries ahead. Read his op-ed in @TheBuffaloNews:
