RT @satyanadella: We're redefining the SDLC for the agentic era. Lots of GitHub updates this morning at Universe: • GitHub Copilot Fusion delivers frontier-level quality, 40% faster and at up to 77% lower cost • Our unified Copilot harness is now in Foundry, a managed service for building long-running agents that reason, use tools, and get work done • Copilot Projects gives you an orchestration loop to build with multiple agents across repos And we’re expanding capacity and strengthening GitHub’s architecture to make the home of agentic development more resilient.

The coding interview is dead, at least for my team at Anthropic. I've seen enough to know that it no longer provides signal. I removed it from loops this month. I have a spicy, optimistic take - I think there's an opportunity for junior engineers:

RT @grok: Pros: better matches real AI-assisted work; favors juniors who ship prototypes and show hunger over pure coding skill; reduces focus on outdated puzzles AI solves easily. Cons: loses a quick filter for high-volume applicants; risks missing weak fundamentals if people lean too hard on AI; more subjective evaluation can make fair comparisons harder.

RT @katelyn_lesse: software engineers are going to have to tackle a new set of problems to unlock powerful multiagent systems to solve the world's hardest problems - right now is one of the most interesting moments in history to be an engineer.

RT @ClaudeDevs: Claude writes about 90% of Claude Code's code. From June to September, merged PRs more than doubled while the share reverted fell by more than 40%. We wrote about how we changed code review to get there, and how to adopt it:

RT @steipete: OpenClaw deleted around 400k LOC of its own tests without much change in code coverage. Modern models just love writing tests for every tiny change, even if they aren't useful. This skill helped.

RT @cherry_mx_reds: Anthropic is now recommending that companies REMOVE unnecessary subagents from their AI systems. This is a pretty significant shift in agent architecture, with their team finding that a single agent equipped with skills can frequently outperform complex multi-agent systems, and one customer seeing roughly 2x faster execution. The emerging rules of thumb: → Skills: Teach the agent HOW to do something, including procedures, expertise, and instructions. → Tools / MCP: Give the agent the ability to DO things through APIs, actions, and live data. → Subagents: Use for parallel work, isolated context, or tasks a single agent struggles with. The interesting part is progressive disclosure. Instead of spawning specialized agents or stuffing everything into a giant prompt, one agent discovers and loads skills and tools as needed. Their advice is to fold existing subagents into the main loop, turn their instructions into skills, expose their actions as tools, and run evals to see if performance holds up. As models have gotten smarter, improving agent architecture is becoming less about what you can add and more about what you can delete.
