RT @PetaIndia: PETA India at @BookarooLitFest, Delhi, inspired young readers through the book 'Unlock the Animal World: Incredible Facts for Young Superheroes'written by Ingrid Newkirk, PETA India and PETA entities worldwide founder. Children discovered fascinating facts about animals, learned that animals have feelings, families, remarkable abilities, and explored simple ways to help them every day. PETA India inspires children to turn knowledge into compassion and become heroes for animals. Learn More: #BookarooLitFest #Delhi #Litfest #AnimalRights #PETAIndia

It was such a pleasure to have you with us. Children loved the waltzing. Look forward to more in the coming years. Thank you.

The Polish Institute participated in the @BookarooLitFest, introducing children to the music of renowned Polish composer & pianist Fryderyk Chopin. Set in a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the engaging session saw children listen, sing and dance along to Chopin’s music.

RT @dpssgr: The stories return. The magic begins again. ✨ Bookaroo comes back to DPS Srinagar this November 2026. 📚 #Bookaroo2026 #DPSSrinagar #Bookaroo #StoriesComeAlive #ChildrensLiterature

A big thank you to Delhi parents who brought their children to the festival, despite the heat and the traffic jams. A big thank you to @IndianExpress for the coverage. Thank you @sundernursery, @PVMIndia @PetaIndia @PenguinIndia @PanMacIndia @HachetteIndia for your support.

Save the dates for this year’s Bookaroos in different cities. See you there!

A new chapter for Schoolaroo. Our first school-based festival at Prakriti School, Noida brings 13 speakers to campus for a day of literary adventures. Our thanks to the school for recognising how powerful it can be for children to meet the people behind the books they love.

A huge thank you to everyone who made Bookaroo Delhi a success. The festival was a perfect display of joie de vivre, with everyone from young children to young adults enjoying their moment with books, reading and speakers. Ever so grateful to the kidlit community.

It’s been a while since we posted anything. Join us this weekend in @sundernursery to celebrate Children’s literature at this year’s Alpenliebe @JuztJellyIndia Bookaroo. Reading, writing, storytelling, art and craft. Let’s read for pleasure and spread the joy of reading!

How much time do you keep aside for ‘reading for pleasure’ with/for your child’? Is it left to schools or as a family you plan it?

The Publishing Next Awards were announced yesterday at IIC. Here are the winners of 2024. Eklavya (which does a lot of children’s books) won the publisher of the year award. Yay to that! @PubNext @leonardjensan

Attended a panel discussion on Children’s Books - An Indian Story. Interesting to hear the creators’ opinions on relevant issues in indian children’s literature. Missed out on mktg and sales aspect though. Hope to hear stakeholders’ opinion on that too. @ParagReads @EklavyaPitara

RT @karthikavk: Young people looking to start up in #publishing, would love to hear from you if you are skilled with the English language, widely read, keen to become an editor, and willing to put in the work and the hours. Pl email me at wleditors@pratilipi.com. @WestlandBooks

RT @MelSzymanik: 🥰 - so grateful our book is being read by children around the world. Thanks to littlesbooks for their kind words ❤️ and to @BookarooLitFest for inviting me to take part. With Vasanti Unka and @PenguinBooks_NZ #sadness #bigfeelings #MyElephantIsBlue

Then there was the request for child authors to be on stage. We say, give them a few more years.

We are often asked about the changes Bookaroo has seen in the last 16 years. We say bring the focus back on reading for pleasure. Keep institutions and performance rating out of reading.

Up next. The 50th edition of Bookaroo. Seems like yesterday when a loose collective of authors, publishers, booksellers sat together to ponder over the feasibility of a litfest exclusively for children. All suggestions welcome. How do we make the 50th special?

It was an exhilarating November for Bookaroo! Three editions in 3 cities. More than 120 speakers conducting 208 sessions for close to 32,000 people. A big thank you to all supporters, speakers and of course the scores of parents who brought their children in.
