One of our favorite #debugging technologies comes from @mozilla, so this week we wanted to help highlight an amazing project. Part three of our #Pwn2Own series makes use of timeless debugging to root cause an exploitable race condition in #JavaScriptCore:
[1/2] I spent hours debugging an SPI communication issue between an STM32 and a display.
Software looked fine. I tested the display with known-working device. It worked.
So I hooked up a logic analyzer.
[2/2] SPI signals looked perfect - clock, data, everything. Except for one tiny glitch on SCK at the very beginning of the first transmission.
One pulse. Everything broke.
Welcome to embedded debugging.

"DisARMing" code - an exploration into systems programming, #debugging & #reverseEngineering on #Linux/#Android/#Darwin and #Aarch64! 510+ pages #book in COLOR(!) for details, because there's more to detail than the margins of a Twitter message can hold.
Platforms every developer should know to solve errors in their code :
1. Stack Overflow (ofc)
2. Reddit
3. Coding communities on discord
4. Pretag team
5. Github issues tab

Good debugging isn’t guessing which line to change. Reproduce the failure, follow the evidence, fix the root cause, and prevent regressions. #SoftwareEngineering#Debugging
