Temperatures in Nagpur are soaring up to 44°C, and in this heat, our team of researchers is on the ground working with the @ngpnmc to strengthen their existing Heat Action Plan and co-create the city's first #IHCAP. The team found that the city has 170 cooling shelters, 7 dedicated heat-relief shelters operated by NMC, and 118 mapped water points spread across the city. With better activation, improved visibility, strategic placement, and targeted public awareness, these existing resources have strong potential to serve thousands of vulnerable residents, particularly during peak afternoon hours when heat stress is at its highest.
