A useful question before any infrastructure decision: if we had to change this three years from now, how hard would it be? A few decisions get harder to reverse every year they stay in place.

Network design. Addressing and failure domains usually have to change while production stays online, and distributed training and inference bring traffic patterns of their own.

Identity. Service accounts and long-lived credentials end up wired into automation all over the environment. In OpenStack, Keystone sits at the center of that, and it can hand authentication to an external identity provider.
