After an hour trying to edit a doc hosted on a server, I’m seriously considering doing it on the TRS-80. I’m old school enough to prefer local clients to web apps. Because they work even when your network is having issues. #TRS80 #RetroAtWork

Today’s #RetroAtWork is the very unusual Gigatron kit. Although this is a contemporary system, it could have been made 40+ years ago as it has no CPU - it’s all off-the-shelf logic chips. Also BASIC FTW! #retrocomputer

From the era before affordable laptops comes today’s old computer - the 1992 Amstrad NC100 notebook. Z80 4Mhz, 64Kb RAM, 80 x 8 char display. PCMCIA storage. Serial port. Biz apps and BASIC. Weirdly coloured keys to be “friendly”. #retrocomputing #RetroAtWork #amstrad

For today’s #RetroAtWork I did manage to hook up this 1981 Z80-based #zx81 #retrocomputer to the office projector, but I can’t get it to load from tape, so I had to retype my meeting agenda in BASIC.

I took some recommendations from Twitter on a HDMI hardware scaling dongle, and now #retroatwork features this classic (recreation of) #retrogaming hardware. Of course it’s running Microsoft BASIC too. Now to port over some PowerPoint presentation with SID chip tunes.
