#StrathBusEd

Delighted to announce the first #StrathBusEd networking event will be happening IN PERSON later this month. Details will be available to alumni soon but really excited to bring past students together to share good practice 🤩 #Networking #SharingGoodPractice #LearnFromEachOther

Tomorrow #StrathBusEd kick off their #LearningFromEachOther for the year. Each week one or more of the students will host a 5 minute input on an area linked to Professional Practice. They come to @StrathEDU from a wealth of experience and diverse backgrounds - vital to share!

Today we had our second immersion day for #StrathBusEd and #StrathCompSci… this time the focus was on pathways, giving them an insight into some of the courses in schools. Thanks to @MrsFlanaganComp @MissDoubleYou1 @TricksyBell @FHSComputing @KHSBusinessEd @Donnie_scqf & Michael

A busy first day back on campus for #StrathBusEd, marking workshop with Diane @sqanews, then exploring and unpicking our #questioning using some of the prompts from @Bruce_NextLevel’s latest book, finishing off with @XpatEducator’s #OnePagers to link theory to practice.

Accounting is one of the @BusEdScotland subjects that many students are a bit anxious about teaching on placement… making use of @CanvaEdu #StrathBusEd have been creating some how to guides for N5 to brush up their knowledge before placement @StrathEDU

Today was all about questioning and command words with #StrathBusEd… we had the return of #CaterpillarCommandWords (which of course meant cake 🍰), thanks to past student @MissThomsonBusE for sharing your command word template.

What a first week with #StrathBusEd 🥰 couldn’t be more proud of this amazing group. Lots of amazing discussions and planning for their first #MicroTeaching next week! #StrathPGDE @StrathEDU @UniStrathclyde @BusEdScotland

Out of office scheduled, looking forward to some quality time with family and loved ones, whilst writing up my #StrathSTL assignment. Wishing all my lovely @StrathEDU colleagues, past and present students and friends a very Merry Christmas when it comes. See you in 2024!

A special shout out to last year’s #StrathBusEd, my first cohort of #StrathPGDE who have made it to the end of their first Christmas term in school. Really proud of you all. Rest up and enjoy the holidays. I’m looking forward to seeing a number of you in the new year.

How is it 2025 already! Time is flying in, this year is about making the most of opportunities, especially with my professional development as a student teacher. Here's to 2025... 🙌 #strathbused #teacher #motivation

A new cohort of #StrathBusEd students means a new #TwitterList - will be adding more of them as they create accounts over the next few weeks. Welcome to #TeamBusEd @StrathEDU class of 2023-24 #BusEdScotland

Quickest and busiest year of my life but all so worth it 👨‍🏫 ~ class of 2024/25 👨‍🎓 Thank you to such a caring and supportive tutor @KHair_BusEd 🙌 #strathbused #teacher #education #scotland #businesseducation

A few glitches along the way… starting off with my tyre pressure warning light coming on when I left this morning, but an amazing first day with #StrathPGDE, a privilege to speak to all students this year, introducing them to IT systems, then ending the day with #StrathBusEd 🥰

Good luck to all our @StrathEDU students heading out on placement tomorrow. Special shout out to #StrathBusEd, I’m so proud of the progress you’ve made so far… listen, ask questions, be reflective and most of all, enjoy it! I can’t wait to hear all about it at recall day.

That’s a wrap for PP with #StrathBusEd for another year… an absolute privilege to work with you all this year and I couldn’t be more proud of everything you have achieved. Thank you for the lovely gifts and cards 🥰 looking forward to seeing many of you at the closing ceremony!

One of the things I love about working with PGDE students is the range of previous experience they bring. On Thurs @McDermottBusEd and @MissWardBusEd to share some mental health and well-being tips with their #StrathBusEd peers @StrathEDU #StrathPGDE #WorldMentalHealthDay

Next week #StrathBusEd are going to be looking at lesson starters during the morning C&P session, @BusEdScotland what are your tried and tested, go to lesson starters and why do you use them? #SharingGoodPractice #LookingOutwards

Last day with the business lot before our first placement - thank you @KHair_BusEd for preparing us with some essentials! Soooo excited to get started! 💫 #StrathBusEd

I’m often asked how I cope with a 35 mile commute to work… this is why! 5 mins from my house, a great way to pause and reflect at the end of the week. To #StrathBusEd at the end of your first week on placement make sure you prioritise some YOU time this weekend.

When you set your students a branding challenge to come up with a brand for their home team and the #BusinessWizards take it one step further! #StrathBusEd #StrathPGDE #BusEdScotland @StrathEDU

Business Wizards on tour this October at a school near you 🎸🪄🤘🏻 #StrathBusEd #Branding

Questioning is something just about every teacher (myself included) could improve and one of the things my tutor team regularly advise as a next step for #StrathBusEd students on placement, reading @Bruce_NextLevel’s latest book ahead of them returning to campus on Tuesday 📚
