Every Linux journey starts with three commands. I used them for a while until they became muscle memory. pwd — Print Working Directory Tells you where you are. Like "you are here" on a map. pwd # /home/ubuntu ls — List Shows files and folders in the current directory.

ls # simple list ls -la # detailed list including hidden files cd — Change Directory Moves you to another folder. cd /etc # go to /etc cd .. # go up one level cd ~ # go to home directory cd - takes you back to the previous directory.

Every GUI operation is just a command: • Opening a folder = cd • Listing files = ls • Creating a file = touch • Deleting = rm Why people prefer it: • Scriptable — you can automate anything • Remote-friendly — works over SSH • Loggable — every command is history

What I'm doing: Force myself to do one new task in the terminal every day. Even if it's slower at first. history shows every command you've run. Ctrl + R searches it. I use this constantly. If you’re looking to go into cloud/DevOps, click the link below for a free guide.
