#MathProof:Why is x^(0)=1?: I've often been asked why the above is true, so let's show why in a very simple proof: WTS: x^(0)=1 for any x. Given: (x^a)/(x^b)=x^(a-b) for any x,a,b;n-n=0 for any n; x/x=1 for any x. In (x^a)/(x^b) let a=b=n then: (x^n)/(x^n)=x^(n-n)=x^0=1 QED

#MathProof:Simplest in #NumberTheory: #WTS: If a|b (a divides b) & a|c then a|(bm+cn) for integers a,b,c,m,n. By def if a|b & a|c then b=ax & c=ay. Hence: bm+cn=(ax)m+(ay)n=a(xm+yn). Products/sums of integers are integers so: Let z=xm+yn:Then bm+cn=az By def a|(bm+cn). QED.
