One of my key criticisms of Nigerian educational institutions, particularly in computer science department, is their heavy reliance on theoretical abstractions. Many professors in these schools and departments have a lot of experience in teaching computer science concepts, but often, their experience is not rooted in actual software development or practical applications in the tech industry. This creates a significant gap in the curriculum, where students are well-versed in theoretical knowledge but may find themselves ill-prepared for the real-world demands of software engineering and computer programming. …anyways, what do I know 👀

The craziest thing is Nigerian Universities are graduating hundreds of Computer Science Students yearly! Yet ALL Nigerian university websites and portals are terrible like junk tech slapped together to form a school platform Super slow and ugly and insecure 😭😂

@czarify They should at least try to add modern programming languages in their curriculum. Why are they still teaching BASIC and FORTRAN in schools? The worst part is that we write the codes on paper, no ways to debug of test run 🙁

@AjonyePaul @czarify There's nothing wrong with writing a Computer Program with Pen&Paper; that's the practical meaning of "No-code Tools" & #ANN of #MachineLearning. In the 2000s, I once wrote #QBasic & #VisualBasic with Pen&Paper ~ preparing me for the #4iR via #ACSGPT || ACS-Web-X || #BravoX C.E.

@ravinwashere Text editor? I remember when my buddy showed me #qbasic and the editor that came with it and I was blown away. My first was basic on an Apple IIe. #applesoft #basic

I just pushed 150+ of dialog files for my RPG. I originally made the game with BASIC in the late 90s. This days I work on a Godot QB interpreter that run the original assets and source files. #godot #qbasic #indiegame
