"An exceptionally brilliant portrait of how politics pulled America, kicking and screaming, into 2025 by one of the best, toughest and non-partisan reporters the United States is so very fortunate to have."
- Bob Woodward on “Retribution: Donald Trump and the Campaign that Changed America”
“The country has had enough.”
Trump told me this morning that he has not spoken to Schumer or Jeffries since the election, but:
“I think we can get along. it's good for the country if we do. The country has had enough.”
He says he has spoken to other Democrats since the election:
“There are others - not them - but people, other democrats, who have been calling. I have friends over there."
Trump told me this morning he intends to keep Pete Hegseth as Defense Secretary:
“I have every intention to keep him.”
Trump acknowledged receiving calls from people unhappy with Hegseth, but said, “I get these calls, you know, about him. I don't understand why.”
He also acknowledged it would be easier to confirm a new Defense Secretary before the Democrats take over the Senate in January.
RT @JohnCornyn: The voters have spoken, and I want to extend my congratulations to James Talarico on his election to the U.S. Senate. I look forward to meeting him and offering my assistance with his transition as he prepares to serve Texans in the U.S. Senate.
RT @Acyn: FOX: Why did you and Paxton both choose not to debate your opponents? You're giving me lots of reasons why you think Texans shouldn't support her. Why didn't do you that on-stage?
ABBOTT: What voters really want, they want to see me show up in person in their community.
FOX: Why not do both???
RT @GMA: ABC News Chief Washington correspondent @jonkarl and Chief Business Correspondent @RebeccaJarvis break down the deep-red states in play this Election Day, including Texas, Kansas, Alaska, Iowa and Ohio, all states President Trump won in each of his three presidential campaigns.
Just spoke to @SenSchumer as he voted in Brooklyn.
He says he is “nauseously optimistic” Democrats will prevail.
And how will they deal with Trump?
“We're going to fight Trump tooth and nail and focus on the issues no matter what he does."
RT @marianne_levine: "Like the human being, grass has a life also," Trump said. "The grass in front of the White House was a very inferior grass for many, many years, and now it’s beautiful."

I encourage anyone who is leading an engineering org to read this in its entirety. It is short, extremely well written, and very much directionally correct. The job and the organization needs to entirely change to take full advantage of these tools.
That path is largely a human alignment challenge at this point. If you are a leader, your job is to get people on the new ship, and get them sailing together. The old ship doesn’t exist anymore, although many people wish it did and are incentivized to continue to believe it exists.
Software Engineering is an entirely different thing now, and the faster you can get your org to understand this and align on how to work now, the less painful it will be for you long term. If you don’t do it, I simply believe your org won’t exist because it will get disrupted by an org that does
