RT @withdavidai: A good voice conversation takes more than a good first response. We just released Dialogue Interaction Assessment Leaderboard (DIAL), the most comprehensive human preference benchmark for S2S models to date, backed by 30k+ ratings across 9k+ live, multi-turn calls. DIAL measures how models handle full interactions, evaluating conversational timing, context tracking, groundedness, task completion, and audio quality across consumer conversations, business calls, and agents calling on a user’s behalf.

RT @sarahcat21: The [multi]-agents are coming. Continual learning started as a niche research trend, but now it's rapidly expanding. Alas, we didn't develop strong benchmarks for CL quickly enough. Multi-agent is starting in the same way. It's going to be huge next year. This time, we need better benchmarks.

Git’s quirks have (mostly) been manageable for humans. But when agents write most of our code, they become untenable. jj’s always-committed model might be the better version control (for humans and agents):

RT @dhaliwas: Great piece from @ayanobacter on optogenetics! A great reminder for anyone underestimating the complexity of novel science. - Science need tools to understand what we cannot observe. - And creativity to hypothesize and imagine what could be - Then experiments, reasoning, and persistence to create something new

My first piece for the @AmplifyPartners Writing Fellowship is out: The Fertility of an Idea It traces the lineage of optogenetics and argues that great science grows the way living things do, across time, people, instruments, branching and borrowing, and that this should shape how we build AI for science. I’m grateful to @dbeyer123, @madelynheart_ and @ElliotHershberg at Amplify for their time and support along the way, and a very big thank you to the inimitable @barsisyphus who edited the piece with lots of care.

RT @barrnanas: As a former data scientist, I’ve always loved the Hex product. The folks at @hexanalytics moved early and urgently to integrate AI into their product before ChatGPT. And yet, coming off their best-ever quarter (serving 2,500 customers!) they decided to boldly rebuild Hex from scratch — recognizing that a product with great AI features isn’t necessarily a product built for agents. The future of data work belongs to humans and agents alike, without compromising on trust. Huge congrats on the $100M raise, @barrald @crcolgrove !

In May, we had just closed our best quarter ever – and of course decided to re-build @hexanalytics from scratch. Today we're announcing two things: Hex 4.0, the first analytics platform truly built for agents; and a $100m fundraise at a $1.2B valuation, led by @peakxvpartners The world is changing fast, and we're not slowing down! RT @karrisaarinen: Not an investor, just a happy customer: We recently moved to Hex, and I told the team "love the design of hex, charts actually look good now" It's also fast. So makes me more likely go at look at them. We also integrated it to @linear so my agents questions, or loops can now find the data too.

RT @dhaliwas: Full product rewrites have been major red flags for fast growing startups, but in the post-AI world, they could be the key to success. Great story of how @hexanalytics increased their growth rate, raised another $100M, and rewrote their product - all at the same time. Take a day to chill y'all. You deserve it. Today we’re announcing our $100M raise, led by @peakxvpartners and @137ventures, with @AvraCap, @a16z, @sequoia, @Redpoint, @ZeroPrimeVC, and @AmplifyPartners all joining the round. And that’s not all: we’re also launching Hex 4.0, a new foundation built for agents. Everything is code, so agents can work with your data and people can verify every number. This round lets us keep building on that foundation without slowing down growth or hiring. More on Hex 4.0 later today. We’re deeply grateful to the 2,500+ teams building on Hex. There’s still so much to build, and it’s never been a better time to work with data. Hear more from our CEO, @barrald →
