RT @NORIWTS: Happy to share @glimmerdao collected Paru-paro (Butterfly) (2026) by Chia Amisola 🦋 @nonperformant Shown at WWW! — ARTXCODE × Rhizome, New York. @rhizome @artxcode_io @fellowshiptrust Why we collected it: • It re-sorts impersonal imagery (platforms, satellites, stock photos) into an intimate encounter with memory, myth and grief by an interactive playable experience • Chia’s life’s work is preserving the Philippine internet, the same mission Glimmer holds for Asian digital art • A work about internet space, collected with its domain, files and Rhizome archive so it can outlast the platforms it draws from Congratulations👏 again to Chia for all the great works she has done and welcome to the collection! Shout out to LAN Party for curating this @benoit_tokyo_ @bennavkim

RT @fellowshiptrust: 🚨TODAY! 🚨 @exonemo's The Last Acres of the Internet, part of the exhibition WEBSITES WEBSITES WEBSITES! (WWW!), goes to auction at 12 PM ET ⭑ Closes 24 hours after the first bid ⭑ Starting at $24, on Fellowship →🔗 ⭑ Proceeds directly support @rhizome's work as a memory institution for digital art. The work offers the web's least desirable real estate for sale. While short domain names sell for colossal amounts, like land in Manhattan, exonemo trades in the opposite: the duo registers meaningless domain names of 63 characters, the maximum length permitted, and grows an HTML wilderness generated from random strings on each one. Whoever buys a website owns both the domain and its wilderness, free to build there as they wish. Bidding opens at $24, the sum Dutch colonial director Peter Minuit is said to have paid the Lenape for Manhattan Island in 1626. In contrast to artists raised within today's platform economy, exonemo reflect on what was lost as the web became centralized, asking who holds its territory and what remains for those arriving next. Now on view at 📍 39 Great Jones St, NY @artxcode_io @rhizome Piece → "Humans Not Invited" (2019) by @Damjanski 🔗 This artwork upends the traditional hierarchy of the internet by excluding human users and welcoming only artificial agents. Operating as a "reverse CAPTCHA," the web-based installation forces visitors to complete a visual recognition test specifically calibrated to fail human perception while remaining legible to automated scripts.

RT @fellowshiptrust: WEBSITES WEBSITES WEBSITES (WWW!) Now on view at 📍 39 Great Jones St, NY @artxcode_io @rhizome Piece → "papertoilet" by @newrafael paper toilet .com is a website-as-artwork consisting of an interactive depiction of a roll of toilet paper. The artwork is stark in its simplicity, both visually and interactively, as the only animations consist of unrolling the toilet paper via a mouse scroll and double clicking to restart the experience. In its unadorned candor, paper toilet .com is a reminder of how the internet was, and still can be, a rich site of experimentation and play, rather than algorithmic flattening and optimization. In the artist’s own words, paper toilet .com was made for “Interactivity for its own sake, not towards any goal other than the interaction itself.”

RT @fellowshiptrust: WWW! Theme 3/4 → ⭑ Poetic Computing ⭑ WEBSITES WEBSITES WEBSITES! (WWW!) is on view in New York through September 27, and online the exhibition is organized into four themes, each a distinct path through thirty years of art on the web. ⭑ Anarchy ⭑ Abstraction ⭑ Poetic Computing ⭑ Ghosts We're introducing them one by one. Today: Poetic Computing In response to the centralization of the internet, webmasters, creative coders and artists began to informally organise a new movement towards reclaiming a more personal and expressive web. Sometimes referred to as Poetic Computing, this return to learning how to make one’s own website focuses on the slow and laborious task of hand-coding, personalization, decolonizing, decentralizing, and expressing one’s individuality. The movement advocates for code as a medium for narrative and care, proof that an internet serving diverse communities is still within reach. Through landscapes, correspondence, games and journeys, these works invite a different kind of attention. You might linger, lose your way, encounter a stranger or find yourself implicated in someone else’s story. Against the familiar routines of posting and scrolling, these artists make room for intimacy and uncertainty, asking what kinds of connections a website might still make possible. RT @fellowshiptrust: WEBSITES WEBSITES WEBSITES (WWW!) Now on view at 📍 39 Great Jones St, NY @artxcode_io @rhizome Piece → "Monogrid 0.1 (2021 - 2026)" by @kimasendorf 🔗 Before Kim Asendorf’s famous series, Monogrid, was sealed into a fully-fledged body of work, there was Monogrid 0.1. In this deceptively simple artwork, two algorithms share a single surface, one pushing the pixels out of place, the other reinstating them at their origin, creating a momentum reminiscent of a camera pan or stop-motion animation. Every Monogrid that followed was written on top of it. The work is testament to Asendorf’s laser-focus on the form of a pixel itself, and how an artist can embrace it with bottomless curiosity and still be synonymous with simplicity, in the likes of Mondrian and Malevich who came before him, only by other means.
