An assistant is only as useful as the archive it can read. CERN learned that early: in 2013 it launched Zenodo with OpenAIRE, where any research output up to 50 GB gets its own DOI. Give a bot access to your thinking, but make that thinking findable first. #AI #OpenScience

Planchet, my Grok Bot is promoted to fully-fledged team member. He has access to all our thinking (research, emails, models, slack, industry data), he is incredibly resourceful - a mesmerizing get-it-done attitude, ultra-fast, receptive with feedback. It is mind-blowing.

Today, we’re announcing an open call for guest investigators in life sciences. Over 8–12 weeks, guest investigators will work directly with my team and other Anthropic researchers to produce analyses and tools for their work. We’ll run our models and harnesses, at no cost to them. We’ll work together to open-source the resulting data, artifacts, and code, and write preprints about what we find. We want humans to remain at the center of scientific discovery, deciding what questions to pursue, and how to pursue them. Those decisions are not ours to make alone. This open call is part of our ongoing efforts at Anthropic to support researchers and accelerate scientific discovery. I’m looking for principal investigators and their research groups at academic institutions, nonprofits, or government labs, working in causal human biology, structural and computational molecular biology, medicinal chemistry, drug discovery, and clinical science. Applications are open for about 14 days:

OPEN SOURCE RESEARCH JUST GOT MORE INTERESTING 6.18 MILLION HOMES IN 2025. 11.24 MILLION IN 2026. That's the equivalent annual U.S. household electricity use estimated in @aipoch_ai's AI electricity case study. These are projections, not official measurements. But AIPOCH Open-Science goes beyond the numbers. It lets you inspect the research behind them. The secret? .science. A portable package with: → Conversations → Data and code → Figures and verification records Import it, explore the evidence, and investigate your own questions. You can even explore how different server-power assumptions change the estimates. This is research you can actually inspect, question, and build upon. Open science, the way it should be. Free and open-source. Repo in 🧵↓
