Got a cheap embroidery machine off amazon for $300 where the biggest complaint is the mandatory $12/mo app that you’re forced to use. Had ChatGPT create its own app that communicates with the machine. Generative art patches incoming!1361364.9K271K

What if you could use Gboard without letting it communicate with Google? Noam’s Morphe Patches offers modifications to make Google’s keyboard more privacy-friendly, with several useful features: 🔹Block Google communications: filters calls to Google apps and components. 🔹Offline voice typing powered by Whisper, running directly on your device. 🔹On-device translation using local models. 🔹Permanent incognito mode. 🔹Alternative GIF providers, without giving Gboard direct internet access. The patch removes Gboard’s Internet permission entirely. To download models, dictionaries or GIFs, the separate Network Helper App handles the required connections. Its access is restricted to the relevant download sources. An interesting option for custom ROM users who want a familiar keyboard without Google Play Services. Installation: Add the repository to Morphe Manager under “More apps,” select Gboard, and apply the patches you want. No root required. Gboard 18.2.4 (ARM64) is the supported version. Check the repository for details. Morphe Manager : Patches : Would you trust a patched Gboard or prefer an open-source keyboard? #Privacy #DeGoogle #Android #CustomROM172629814.3K

A guy has paid $1,100 for his iPhone and has installed every single update for 7 years. Last Monday, a notification popped up: iOS 27.2. He tapped “Update Now,” watched the progress bar crawl, put the phone down, and went back to scrolling Instagram. That was his entire iOS 27.2 experience. Update installed. Nothing changed. Nothing explored. Nothing configured. Two days later, at a family dinner, his cousin, a former Apple Genius Bar tech who spent 6 years fixing and configuring iPhones for a living, glanced at his screen and quietly said: “You just installed the biggest update of the entire iOS 27 cycle, and you changed zero settings.” “What do you mean?” His cousin took the phone and started talking: “Siri now remembers your past conversations, and you never checked which apps it’s allowed to read. Messages now suggests actions above your keyboard, and you never chose which ones stay on. Every photo you edit with Extend, Reframe, or a large Clean Up now carries a hidden AI watermark, and you had no idea. Your Apple TV app finally supports profiles, and your kid’s cartoons are still wrecking your recommendations. Your HomePod still starts playing every time your cat walks across the top of it. Your smart lock can alert you when the door is left open, and you’ve never turned it on. And you’re running a build that patches more than 160 security vulnerabilities, so for every day you waited, you left them open.” He didn’t say a word. “It’s not that the update is small. It’s that Apple ships the features but leaves every switch on default. Nobody tells you where the switches are.” He took the phone back, opened Settings, and changed 9 things in 10 minutes. His reaction: “It feels like I just bought a new phone.” His cousin’s answer: “You didn’t buy anything. You’ve been using your iPhone through a keyhole. iOS 27.2 just handed you the door.” Here’s every iOS 27.2 feature and setting worth changing, in the exact order he did it 🧵874411.8K554K
@primemans7. Stop your HomePod from starting music at 2 a.m. Anyone with a toddler or a curious cat knows this problem: one brush against the top of the HomePod and music starts blasting in the middle of the night. iOS 27.2 adds a fix: Lock Controls. Home app > your HomePod’s accessory settings > Lock Controls Turn it on and taps no longer start audio. Timers, alarms, Intercom, Check In, and FaceTime controls still respond normally. One catch: both your iPhone and your HomePod need the 27.2 software for it to work. 8. Smart lock owners got an upgrade too. Compatible smart locks now support Lock After Closing, which automatically locks the door after it closes, and Door Left Open alerts, which you can set anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes. Two tiny settings. Zero effort. You’ll use them every single day.121523.8K
@primemans9. Install it for the security fixes alone Even if you don’t care about one feature on this list, this is why you update. iOS 27.2 patches more than 160 security vulnerabilities. That includes: - More than 30 WebKit bugs - Around 15 kernel flaws - An Apple Intelligence issue that could expose sensitive data to a remote attacker - A Hide My Email bug that could reveal your real address To be clear: Apple hasn’t flagged any of them as actively exploited. So this is a “soon” update, not a “drop everything” emergency. But Apple publishes the details of every fix, and unpatched phones become easier targets with every passing day. How to update: 1. Back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer 2. Open Settings > General > Software Update 3. Tap Update Now and keep your phone charging It takes 15 minutes. Do it tonight.243122.8K
Opus 5.5 just made 232 pixel animation effects without using a single image 🤯 Every frame is pure code. It literally renders the effect, spots its own visual bugs, and patches them before you even look. Dev open sourced the whole thing + the Skill. My pixel art folder just became a museum 💀50191.1K

🚨 URGENT CYBERSECURITY ALERT THE OCTOBER SECURITY CRISIS The past few days have exposed a brutal reality in the software and cybersecurity landscape. We are no longer just fighting bugs in the code we write we are facing massive risks in the infrastructure and third party tools we trust. Key highlights from the recent wave of disclosures PHP Remote Code Execution: Critical flaws discovered in PHP, impacting millions of web servers worldwide and prompting governments to issue emergency patches Supply Chain & Package Compromises: Malicious updates and backdoored packages slipped into widely used repositories, threatening development environments. The Speed of Exploitation Attackers are actively weaponizing vulnerabilities before public disclosures and emergency patches hit the market. The takeaway for developers and security researchers? Trust nothing verify everything, and patch your systems immediately. Security is a continuous battle, not a one-time setup. Stay vigilant Secure your infrastructure. 🛡️ #CyberSecurity #EthicalHacking #BugBounty #InfoSec #VulnerabilityManagement #TechNews27181K
