My most recent book is "The Geek Way" (Nobel Prize-winner) Bengt Holmstrom's Amazon review: "McAfee’s book is a breath of fresh air that brings several original perspectives on today’s start-up organizations and beyond. Highly recommended!"

RT @EPBResearch: AI productivity gains are showing up, but only in ~15% of jobs. The three heaviest AI adopters (information, professional services, finance) went from a 2.2% productivity trend to 5.0% since 2022. The rest of the economy: 0.9% to 1.4%.

RT @andrew_anagnost: Autonomous manufacturing is getting a lot of attention. The bigger opportunity is connected intelligence across design, make and operate. When product context and real-world performance stay connected, AI can help manufacturers make better decisions and scale expertise. More here:

Great analogy. Let me extend it: US tech/AI industry = sledgehammer forehand Our ability to create "geek" companies in other industries (think SpaceX, Stripe, Anduril...) = sublime backhand VC ecosystem = silky net game Dynamic labor market = total court coverage

I've started to think of America's capital markets as our country's equivalent of having a 130 mph average tennis serve. We can do can an incredible number of other things wrong, but somehow stay in the game economically, because because we can just blast money around.

RT @emollick: My new book, Co-Existence, is out today. It is a guide to how to live & work in a world where AI is sometimes, but not always, better than you. (And, for the release, I worked with Opus 5.5 to make a quite interesting experience for the book's website:

RT @sinanaral: 🚨Out now in PNAS! The first ever (we believe) large scale RCT + field experiment on the performance effects of AI Personalization! 🚩 In a preregistered randomized experiment, 🚩 We paired 1,258 participants with AI agents prompted to exhibit varying levels of the Big Five personality traits. 🚩 These human–AI teams produced 7,266 display ads, evaluated by 1,168 human raters, and a field experiment on X with ~5M impressions.

RT @emollick: If you haven’t made sure to turn on two-factor authentication on all accounts, have passwords with family in case you get voice calls asking for money, etc, now would be a good time. AI gains mean the costs of mass targeting individuals with sophisticated attacks are dropping.

RT @CardiffGarcia: Icymi yesterday, check out our post on the right lessons of the last four decades of US real wage growth. We really tried to be careful in our presentation and interpretations, and we love how it came out. See Ben’s thread below and click through to the link in his second tweet.
    Ben Glasner @BenGlasner
It remains shocking to me that we have seen a full scale reversal of the post-COVID trend in wage growth. Since March 2025, real wages are down across the distribution. Only the 25th is up (+1%). let’s look at how odd this is in the context of the last 40+ years. @CardiffGarcia

RT @CharlesCMann: Small counterweight to the overall collapse of print: printing tech has developed to the point where publishers can make visually stunning stuff. And our new crossword, our cocktail column, classifieds, and more! The new edition has had a massive design upgrade with beautiful, premium matte paper, a larger form factor, and bigger, clearer and more elegant typeography. It is a joy to read.
