with all the talk of clean bangalore and not much action taking place we need to find better ways to tackle this problem Reasons vary from tippers not coming to collect waste to people being ignorant or not available at the time of the day when the tipper comes Here is a probable plan that can be studied and tried to handle this menace - Replace tipper autos with modified SCVs (tata ace etc) that have a bigger collection capacity - Create small 200-300 residents zones where 2 x 240 L bins are placed for Dry and Wet waste each (4 bins in total, can have an additional bin for sanitary/special care waste) - Educate people in that zone to drop off their waste at any time in the day - Then either of the 2 options can be used based on budgets -- 3 resources working in 8-hour shifts to ensure 1 is available at any time of the day to ensure compliance and intimate collection points to come pickup waste when bins are nearing capacity -- Build an AI camera system to ensure compliance and an indicator system in each of the bins to intimate collection points to come pickup the waste when bins are near capacity - Send the SCV trucks to collect the waste and clear the bins so that the process can be repeated - Ensure collection happens at least once daily #wastesegregation #cleanbangalore #smartbangalore @krishnabgowda & @GBAChiefComm can something like this be tried in our city to solve the garbage mess we currently are living through?? @ChristinMP_ @naveenmzs @ShilpiNil
